CCTV News: The reporter learned from the Ministry of Education that the Ministry of Education has deployed the key tasks of "campus meals" management in 2025 in the spring semester, established a normal and long-term mechanism, comprehensively check for deficiencies and fill in the gaps, and ensure the safety of campus meals for teachers and students.
Relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Education said that this year, the special rectification of "campus meals" will be deepened, focusing on:
(I) Consolidate the main responsibilities of primary and secondary schools, and focus on strengthening the awareness of principals' "first responsible person".
(2) Keep a close eye on key links such as food procurement, distribution, inspection, storage, processing and production, strengthen standardized and refined management, strictly implement the funding management system, and improve the safety risk prevention and control system.
(III) Strengthen supervision supervision, unblock the mechanism for reporting and complaints between teachers and students, promote the general establishment of dietary supervision parent committees in primary and secondary schools, and strengthen the role of parent supervision.
(IV) Continue to increase investment in school canteen funds and facilities and equipment, strengthen personnel training, and promote the construction of school food safety informatization.
(V) Improve emergency plans and strengthen dynamic risk perception. Once a campus food safety emergency occurs, management should be upgraded, handled efficiently and steadily, and relevant personnel should be held accountable.

In November 2024, the Ministry of Education issued the "Guidelines for Food Safety and Dietary Funding Management in Primary and Secondary Schools", which clarified the operating procedures and standardization standards for key areas and weak links such as procurement, storage, and processing of "campus meals". The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Education said that it will promote the standardization and standardization implementation of campus meal-related work through regular supervision and inspection.
Since the launch of special rectification of outstanding issues in food safety and dietary funding management of primary and secondary school campuses in May 2024, a total of 10.3 billion yuan has been invested across the country to improve school canteens, and the coverage rate of "Internet + open kitchen and bright stove" has reached 98.5%. Special rectification statistics show that at present, there are 167,300 primary and secondary schools across the country that use canteens to provide meals, accounting for 70.75%.
