Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, February 10 (Reporter Xu Penghang) The reporter learned from the National Medical Insurance Administration on the 10th that the "Medical Insurance Drug Consumables Traceability Information Query" function of the National Medical Insurance Service Platform APP was officially launched recently. Purchasers can obtain detailed drug sales information by scanning the drug traceability code on the drug box to understand the "past and present" of the drug. At present, nearly 33,000 people have used this function to check drug sales information every day.
The drug traceability code is the only "electronic ID card" for each box of drugs. A box of drug traceability should only have a record of being sold once by scanning the code. If it appears repeatedly many times, there is a possibility that fake drugs, reflux drugs or drugs will be sold in exchange for sale.
According to reports, after registering and logging into the National Medical Insurance Service Platform APP, drug purchasers can enter the "Medical Insurance Drug Consumables Traceability Information Query" function to scan the code or enter the traceability code to query. If the product being inquired is suspected of being sold multiple times, the public may claim compensation from the designated medical institution selling the drug based on this information in accordance with the relevant legal terms.

Data from the National Health Insurance Administration shows that as of January 16, 2025, a total of 15.806 billion traceability codes have been collected nationwide, and 880,900 designated medical institutions across the country have been connected to 94.7%, with an access rate of 94.7%.
"We welcome the general public to use this function, scan the drug traceability code, check the drug sales information, participate in drug safety management, jointly maintain drug safety, and jointly protect the safety of medical insurance funds." A relevant person in charge of the National Medical Insurance Administration said.
