CCTV News: According to the WeChat official account of Shishuo Xinyu, recently, with the approval of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the international standard "Brand Evaluation Tourism City" (ISO 11778: 2025) led by my country was officially released.
This international standard explains and stipulates the basic framework, evaluation indicators and evaluation process of world tourism cities brand evaluation. Through specific indicator elements such as tourism resources, tourism infrastructure, tourism service convenience, environmental sustainability, safety, evaluation of relevant party, number of tourists, and financial performance, the difference levels of different tourist cities in the world are evaluated, providing reference for consumers. The release of this international standard will provide a basis for the brand evaluation of world tourist cities, provide management, incentives and operational guidance for the sustainable development of tourist cities, help consolidate the brand building foundation of tourist cities, improve the brand influence and core competitiveness of tourist cities, enhance international exchanges and cooperation among cities in various countries, and empower the high-quality development of tourist cities with standards.
In recent years, people's attention and interest in tourist cities have continued to rise. Under the International Organization for Standardization Brand Evaluation Technical Committee (ISO/TC 289), my country took the lead in putting forward the proposal for the international standard "Brand Evaluation Tourism City" under the International Organization for Standardization Brand Evaluation Technical Committee (ISO/TC 228), and jointly promoted it with the International Organization for Standardization Tourism and Related Services Technical Committee (ISO/TC 228), and collaborated with experts from Austria, Italy, Portugal, Spain, the United States and other countries to gather the practical experience of relevant parties such as the United Nations Tourism Organization, jointly formulated the international standard and was successfully released.
