CCTV News: On September 29, the State Information Office held a press conference to introduce the achievements of high-quality cultural and tourism development in the "14th Five-Year Plan" period and answer reporters' questions.
At the press conference, the cultural and tourism industry was developing vigorously. The cultural industry system is more perfect, the structural layout is constantly optimized, the scale has steadily expanded, and the efficiency has been significantly improved. The role of expanding domestic demand, driving consumption, and stabilizing expectations has been demonstrated. In 2024, the cultural industry achieved operating income of 19.14 trillion yuan, an increase of 37.7% over 2020; there were 78,000 cultural enterprises above designated size, an increase of 13,000 over 2020.
The number of domestic residents' travelers and total spending has maintained a high growth rate. In the first half of 2025, domestic residents traveled 3.285 billion, with a total spend of 3.15 trillion yuan.
