In Zhaoxing Dong Village, Liping County, Guizhou, the General Secretary learned in detail about the local development in recent years and emphasized that "tourism is a big industry now, rural tourism is in full swing, and ethnic areas should retain their own unique culture and further demonstrate its brilliance in the integration of culture and tourism."
In the ancient city of Lijiang, Yunnan, the General Secretary carefully inspected the protection of the ancient city along the way and sincerely reminded that "the integration of culture and tourism has promoted economic development, and the cultural and tourism industry must take a sustainable and healthy development path."
Developing tourism is an important focus for promoting high-quality development. Since the new era, my country's tourism industry has entered the fast lane, forming the world's largest domestic tourism market, and becoming the largest source of international tourism and the main destination. In 2024, the number of domestic tourists exceeded 5.6 billion, an increase of nearly 15% year-on-year, and tourism spending exceeded 5.7 trillion yuan, an increase of more than 17% year-on-year.
During the 2023 National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed an important topic: "Where culture is very developed, the economy is still ahead. You can study the humanities and economics here." During this year's Two Sessions, the General Secretary further emphasized "Empowering economic and social development with culture."

Adhere to three principles, coordinate five pairs of relationships, clarify five tasks, and General Secretary Xi Jinping personally planned and deployed tourism development. The "Decision" of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China clearly states that "improve the system and mechanism for the deep integration of culture and tourism."

Zhaoxing Dong Village formed a Dong ethnic group sing team and a Dong opera troupe, and built ethnic festivals such as the Grain Rain Festival, Lusheng Festival, and Dong New Year Festival into tourism brands. New business formats such as coffee economy, sports and residence have emerged, and many "tourists" in Lijiang have become "co-constructors".
