CCTV News: According to the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in 2024, my country's lithium-ion battery (hereinafter referred to as "lithium battery") industry will continue to grow. According to the company information and industry association estimates of the lithium battery industry specification announcement, the total output of lithium battery in the country is 1170GWh, an increase of 24% year-on-year. The total output value of the industry exceeded 1.2 trillion yuan.
In the battery stage, the production of consumer, energy storage and power lithium batteries from January to December are 84GWh, 260GWh and 826GWh respectively. The installed capacity of lithium batteries (including new energy vehicles and new energy storage) exceeded 645GWh, an increase of 48% year-on-year. Affected by the decline in the price of lithium battery products, the total export volume of lithium battery in the country reached 434.8 billion yuan from January to December, a year-on-year decrease of 5%, a decrease of seven percentage points from the first half of 2024.
In the first-order material link, the output of positive electrode materials, negative electrode materials, diaphragms and electrolytes from January to December were about 3.1 million tons, 2 million tons, 21 billion square meters, and 1.3 million tons, respectively, with year-on-year growth of more than 20%.
In the second-order material link, the production of battery-grade lithium carbonate from January to December was 670,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 45%, and the production of battery-grade lithium hydroxide was 360,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 26%. From January to December, the average prices of battery-grade lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide (micro powder grade) were 90,000 yuan/ton and 87,000 yuan/ton respectively.
