On March 26, the first industry standard in the field of embodied intelligence jointly drafted by China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and more than 40 units was officially released. This standard builds a unified benchmark testing framework for the field of embodied intelligence, marking the entry of embodied intelligence evaluation into a new stage of "standards to follow."
It is understood that this standard focuses on key basic technologies of artificial intelligence and embodied intelligence benchmark testing methods. It also clarifies the framework and capability requirements of embodied intelligence systems and will be officially implemented on June 1, 2026. The standard specifies the benchmark testing framework, methods and indicators for embodied intelligent systems in simulation environments and real environments. The evaluation system proposed by the standard supports testing of basic capabilities, cognitive reasoning capabilities, and full-link closed-loop capabilities, covering four testing methods: static simulation testing, dynamic simulation testing, real environment testing, and combined testing.
Experts pointed out that in order to ensure the operability of the standard, a supporting test task library, test tools and standard test environment were simultaneously constructed during the standard preparation process. At present, more than 10,000 test task libraries have been built, covering 300 task types such as industry, household, retail, and logistics. Test tools such as data collection and management, simulation task generation and indicator automatic calculation were built.
