CNOOC announced on December 24 that it had made another 100-million-ton discovery in the shallow Neogene of the Bohai Sea in my country - the Qinhuangdao 29-6 oil field. This is the seventh 100-million-ton oil field discovered continuously in the Bohai Oilfield, my country's largest crude oil production base, since 2019. It further consolidates my country's offshore oil and gas resource reserves and is of great significance to ensuring national energy security.
The Qinhuangdao 29-6 Oilfield is located in the central Bohai Sea. It is another 100-million-ton lithological oil field in this area after the discovery of the Qinhuangdao 27-3 Oilfield in recent years. After testing, the daily crude oil production of a single well in this oil field is about 370 tons, showing good exploration prospects.
The relevant person in charge of CNOOC said that CNOOC has strengthened the oil and gas migration and accumulation model and technological innovation in the Neogene shallow slope zone and made major discoveries. It has broken through the traditional understanding that oil and gas in the slope zone will pass through without being retained and is difficult to enrich on a large scale, and has demonstrated the exploration potential of the uplift and slope area.
