They not only transform the train hardware facilities to aging-friendly, but also carefully design travel routes to meet the diversified travel needs of elderly tourists.
At 9:24 am, a silver-haired tourism train with more than 400 elderly passengers set off from Anjing Station in Chengdu, Sichuan, passing through Lincang, Jianshui, Yuanyang and other places, and started an 8-day spring outing.
It is understood that about 70% of the passengers taking this train are over 60 years old. In order to better meet the travel needs of elderly passengers, the railway department has carried out aging-friendly transformation of the train. Relevant staff said that the railway department for elderly passengers added anti-slip handrails, foldable chair stools, anti-slip floor mats, etc. to train compartments, which can better ensure their travel safety.
In addition to the upgrade of hardware facilities, the train has also equipped with medical ambulance personnel on the train, launched light-tasting meals, and realized "cars walking with people, walking at night and traveling day, and parking in sightseeing places". According to the staff, the attendance rate of each special train is 100%, and passengers aged 60 and above account for more than 80%. Next, the railway department will also add special trains in Anshun, Xinjiang, Ejina and other directions to give passengers a different experience.
At Anyang Station, Henan, more than 800 elderly passengers took the first silver-haired passenger train to visit Henan, Shaanxi and Sichuan provinces; Pingdingshan Station provides exclusive waiting areas and green channels for elderly passengers, communicates and connects with local cultural and tourism departments and scenic spots in advance, and adopts appointments and staggered peaks to formulate routes that are more suitable for elderly passengers to visit.
