At the special press conference of the Ministry of Commerce held today, a relevant person in charge of the China Railway Corporation said that by 2027, more than 100 railway silver-haired tourism high-quality railway routes will be designed, and the scale of silver-haired tourism trains will reach more than 2,500.
A relevant person in charge of China Railway Group said that the focus will be on the characteristics of elderly tourists, and through the renovation of tourist train equipment and facilities, the hardware conditions and service quality will be effectively improved, and the service quality will be comprehensively improved. By 2027, more than 100 high-quality railway silver-haired tourism routes will be completed, and 160 sets of silver-haired tourism trains will be built, and the scale of silver-haired tourism trains will reach more than 2,500.
Zhu Wenzhong, deputy director of the Passenger Transport Department of China Railway Group: Do a good job in strengthening and renovating the equipment and facilities of Yinhai tourism trains, highlighting the train theme, focusing on the characteristics of Yinhai passenger group, optimizing the size and layout of the bus carriages, and adding necessary equipment and facilities such as handrails, oxygen cylinders, first aid utensils, emergency call buttons, etc., reflecting the travel care for the silverhai group.
In 2024, a total of 1,860 tourist trains were launched nationwide, which was the year with the largest number of travel in history, an increase of nearly 50% year-on-year compared with 2019. The launch directions were mainly concentrated in popular tourist directions and routes such as Xinjiang, Yunnan, and Heilongjiang, transporting more than 1 million tourists.
