Xinhua News Agency, Guangzhou, February 1 (Reporter Wang Haoming) On January 31, the inbound and outbound passenger flow through the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge reached 156,000, breaking the annual peak of 150,000 for the first time, breaking the historical record since its opening. This was learned by the reporter from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Border Inspection Station on February 1.

According to statistics from the station, from January 28 to 31, the inbound and outbound passenger flow through the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge exceeded 454,000, and the traffic flow exceeded 69,000, an increase of 22% and 32% respectively over the same period last year's Spring Festival.

Data shows that from January 28 to 31, the number of residents entering and leaving Hong Kong and Macao residents inspected by the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge border inspection station exceeded 280,000, accounting for more than 60% of the total passenger flow at the port; in terms of vehicles, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge border inspection station inspected the "two vehicles heading north" in total. In terms of "Hong Kong vehicles heading north", the average number of entry and exit vehicles per day reached 8,700, an increase of more than 90% from before the festival, becoming the main factor driving the growth of port traffic during the Spring Festival.

"Since New Year's Eve, the port's night peak hours have been longer and the peaks have been higher. The peak hours have continued to around 1 a.m. During the peak hours, the port's passenger flow exceeded 6,000 people per hour and the traffic flow exceeded 1,200 vehicles per hour." The person in charge of the border inspection station of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge introduced.

According to reports, in order to properly respond to the peak of passenger flow, the border inspection station of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has increased its investment in police force, added pre-guidance and manual inspection positions, arranged mobile police force to strengthen monitoring and patrol, opened inspection channels in advance and closed, and shortened the waiting time for passengers; in response to the increase in the number of elderly and children on the vehicle, the mobile inspection model is innovatively used to provide "drill-free inspection" services to those who need to help, and continuously improve the port customs clearance experience.
