In Wangjia Village, Huangshan, Rongcheng City, Shandong Province, there is a lush red pine forest, which is particularly eye-catching. Red pine is known as the "Northern Treasure Tree" and is mainly distributed in the areas of Changbai Mountain in the northeast to Little Xing'anling. Why are red pine growing in the northeast able to breed and form forests in Rongcheng City? This has to start with an 81-year-old man in the village - Song Zhonghua.

When the reporter found the old man Song Zhonghua, he was busy in the red pine forest. Although he is in his 80s, he is in good spirits. When talking about his fate with the red pine trees, Song Zhonghua started talking. In 1965, he went to Linjiang City, Jilin to live with his mother. When he saw Hongsong for the first time, his tall and straight figure was suddenly imprinted in his heart.

Since 2004, Song Zhonghua returned to his hometown, Huangshan Wangjia Village, Hushan Town, Rongcheng City, Shandong Province, and rented a wasteland, and began a long and arduous tree planting process. He asked his friends to send about 140,000 red pine seeds from Linjiang City, Jilin, hoping that they would take root and sprout in their hometown. Due to the large differences in temperature and soil conditions in the north and south, the red pine trees "were not adapted to the soil and soil", and the seedling growth rate in the first year was only 7%. Faced with such a result, Song Zhonghua did not retreat. He bought professional books to study, and asked forestry experts everywhere, and finally found his own planting method.

In 2013, watching the successful cultivation of red pine trees thriving, Song Zhonghua had a new idea and donated to transplant red pine trees to let more red pine trees grow upward in his hometown.

Over the years, he has donated 4,980 red pine trees free of charge, worth nearly one million yuan. Today, 81-year-old Song Zhonghua is still busy among the red pine forests.
