CCTV News (News Network): After a magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred in Dingri County, Shigatse, Tibet, the third brigade of the Shigatse Detachment of the Armed Police was one of the closest rescue forces to the epicenter. They quickly formed an advance force led by party members and cadres to dispatch as soon as possible, raced against time, and successfully rescued several trapped people.
After the earthquake, the Party Committee of the Brigade organized personnel to take emergency risk avoidance as soon as possible, and then took action according to the plan. At 9:50, after receiving the order from the superiors, 30 people sent their forces to Changsuo Township, which was severely affected, and rescued them in three groups.
A group led by party member and cadre Cai Jing arrived in Senga Village immediately launched a search and rescue operation. Aftershocks occur from time to time in the affected area, and damaged houses may collapse again at any time, which brings considerable trouble to the on-site rescue operation.
Under the ruins of a collapsed house, everyone found a mother and son trapped. Due to the small area space, large machinery cannot be used, the officers and soldiers worked with rescue forces such as public security police to dig with bare hands.
The rescued mother and son were immediately transferred to Dingri County Hospital for treatment. After several days of recuperation, their condition has improved greatly.
In the golden rescue time after the earthquake, this advance rescue team rescued 10 buried people and evacuated more than 100 affected people. After the search and rescue mission was completed, they immediately devoted themselves to material transfer, resettlement sites, disinfection and epidemic prevention operations.
