In a smart farm in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, the 450-acre field is equipped with more than 200 field sensors and 4 IoT micro base stations, which can automatically determine the amount of irrigation and the corresponding time based on the growth attributes of rapeseed, combined with the soil moisture, field size and real-time water level monitored by the sensors. In the greenhouse nearby, the lush green kale is growing happily. New aerosol cultivation technology is introduced here, using nutrient solution instead of soil. The system can automatically formulate irrigation strategies based on light, temperature, humidity, and crop growth stage, and accurately regulate the spraying frequency of nutrient solution to ensure that crops receive timely and appropriate amounts of water. AI decision-making for water supply makes mountain blueberry irrigation smarter. In a blueberry base in Beichuan, Sichuan, the AI smart water-saving irrigation system loads soil, water, fertilizer, and meteorological data into the "smart brain", transforming traditional mountain agriculture from "watering based on experience" to "AI decision-making for water supply," allowing hilly and mountainous areas to develop modern agriculture that saves water and electricity.
After fully applying AI smart irrigation in this 1,800-acre orchard, the total annual water saving exceeds 90,000 cubic meters, the annual electricity and labor costs are saved by more than 400,000 yuan, and the water and fertilizer utilization rate is nearly doubled. Propaganda reaches people’s hearts and enhances the public’s awareness of water conservation.
