At around 2 pm on February 15, an explosion occurred at a fireworks and firecracker retail store in Dong'an Village, Shiliu Street, Donghai County, Lianyungang, Jiangsu, killing 8 people and injuring 2 others. The Emergency Management Department dispatched the scene, requiring a comprehensive inspection and verification of the number of casualties, making every effort to treat the injured, identifying the cause as soon as possible, and dispatching a working group to the scene to guide the work. At the same time, accident warning messages were issued to all localities and all fireworks and firecracker enterprises and retail outlets, requiring a comprehensive investigation of hidden safety risks of fireworks and firecrackers, and resolutely preventing excessive storage and illegal discharges on site.
