According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from January 6 to 8, 2026, the Chinese government's special envoy for the Middle East issue Zhai Jun visited Israel and met with Israeli Foreign Minister Sa'ar, Director-General of Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amkhani, and National Security Council Vice Chairman Draznin, respectively, to exchange in-depth views on bilateral relations.

Zhai Jun said that the Chinese nation and the Jewish nation have traditional friendship, and maintaining the healthy and stable development of China-Israel relations is in the fundamental interests of the two peoples. China is willing to work with Israel to maintain exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries and continue the friendship between the peoples.

Israel stated that it attaches great importance to the development of Israel-China relations, always adheres to the one-China policy, and is willing to work with China to further intensify exchanges between the two countries in various departments and at all levels, and to promote new progress in bilateral practical cooperation in various fields.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional hot issues.
