After entering orbit, the spacecraft successfully docked at the forward port of the Tianhe core module of the space station at 15:50, and will subsequently serve as the return spacecraft for the Shenzhou 21 astronaut crew. Analysis pointed out that the Shenzhou 22 spacecraft launch mission was a complete success, marking a new level of China's manned space emergency response capabilities.

Small cracks were found in the portholes of the spacecraft, and a space "transfer" quickly began

Different from previous missions, the Shenzhou 22 spacecraft is performing an "emergency launch" mission this time. The mission originated from the Shenzhou 20 spacecraft in orbit being hit by tiny space debris, causing tiny cracks in the portholes. In order to ensure the absolute safety of the astronauts, the headquarters decided to activate a backup plan, allowing the astronaut crew to return on the intact Shenzhou 21 spacecraft, and at the same time urgently launched the backup spacecraft Shenzhou 22.

It is understood that starting from the Shenzhou-12 mission, China's manned spacecraft launches have adopted a rolling backup mode of "one for one and one for one". In the event of an emergency, the backup launch vehicle and manned spacecraft can quickly switch from standby status to launch status to perform emergency rescue missions on the space station. According to reports, the emergency launch rocket system has three unchanged features: the concept of life first and safety first remains unchanged, the basic technical status of the rocket remains unchanged, and the overall rocket flight plan remains basically unchanged.

The first batch of Shenzhou spacecraft carries out a number of technical improvements

The Shenzhou 22 spacecraft is the first ship of the new batch of Shenzhou spacecraft. This spacecraft has undergone two major improvements: First, the instrument system has been significantly upgraded to make the human-machine interface more beautiful and friendly; second, the instrument panel has been miniaturized to free up more space for the return capsule. Zheng Wei of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation said that the entire instrument system has been greatly improved to make the human-machine interface look more beautiful; secondly, its size has been greatly reduced, providing a relatively large installation space for the downlink load of the return capsule.

Fully loaded with food, medicine and other supplies to provide solid support for space missions

The Shenzhou 22 spacecraft is unmanned and loaded with space food, space medicine, fresh fruits and vegetables, a disposal device for cracks in the portholes of the Shenzhou 20 spacecraft, etc. It will later serve as the return spacecraft for the Shenzhou 21 astronaut crew.

The crews of Shenzhou 20 and 21 rotated for a long time, which may have consumed some of the fresh things originally brought to Shenzhou 21. Use this opportunity to make up for it.

This mission is the 38th launch mission since the establishment of China's manned space program and the 610th flight of the Long March series of carrier rockets. It is also the first emergency launch mission of China's manned space program.
