CCTV News: On March 18, the National Energy Administration released data on electricity consumption in the whole society in February.
In February, the total electricity consumption of the whole society was 743.4 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 8.6% year-on-year. From the perspective of electricity consumption by industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 9.8 billion kWh, an increase of 10.2% year-on-year; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 462.4 billion kWh, an increase of 12.4% year-on-year; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 142 billion kWh, an increase of 9.7% year-on-year; the electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 129.2 billion kWh, a decrease of 4.2% year-on-year.
From January to February, the total electricity consumption of the whole society was 1556.4 billion kWh, an increase of 1.3% year-on-year, of which the power generation of industrial enterprises above designated size was 149.21 billion kWh. From the perspective of electricity consumption by industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 20.8 billion kWh, an increase of 8.2% year-on-year; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 963.6 billion kWh, an increase of 0.9% year-on-year; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 298 billion kWh, an increase of 3.6% year-on-year; the electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 274 billion kWh, an increase of 0.1% year-on-year.
