CCTV News: Recently, many river and lake water systems in Beijing have recovered, and many river cruise routes will resume sailing this month.
Recently, the Beijing Changhe-Kunyuhe cruise route was the first to resume sailing, which is also the first river route to resume sailing this year. Visitors can take a cruise ship to start from the Beijing Zoo, with a total length of 9 kilometers, passing through many gardens and ruins such as Wanshou Temple and Guangyuan Gate, and arriving at the Summer Palace. As the former imperial river channel, the Changhe-Kunyu River section cruise route has a history of more than 700 years. With its rich historical heritage and unique cultural landscape, it has become the first stop for tourists to raft and enjoy the spring.
In recent years, Beijing has insisted on the coordinated governance of water resources, water environment and water ecology, and actively promoted the protection and construction of happy rivers and lakes. After several rounds of ecological water replenishment across river basins and multiple water sources, the water environment quality of Beijing rivers and lakes has continued to improve, and five major rivers, including Chaobai River and Bei Canal, have been connected to the sea for four consecutive years. At present, the 6 major river cruise routes in Beijing have reached 84 kilometers of rivers and lakes.
