Dear General Secretary Su Lin, comrades and friends from China and Vietnam: Hello everyone!

I am very happy to meet with representatives of the two countries attending the China-Vietnam People's Gala in Hanoi. On behalf of the Chinese Party and Government, I would like to extend my sincere greetings to you. This is my fourth visit to Vietnam in 10 years, and it is also my first stop this year. Yesterday afternoon, I held fruitful talks with General Secretary Su Lin and reached important consensus on promoting the construction of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future in the new era. Just now, General Secretary Su Lin delivered a passionate speech, and I fully agree with his positive evaluation of the relationship between the two parties and the two countries.

"The towering wood has its roots, and the mountains have its source." The foundation of China-Vietnam relations lies in the people, blood lies in the people, and strength lies in the people. For a long time, from working together to save the nation and sow revolutionary sparks, to fighting side by side to achieve national independence and national liberation, and then to embarking on the journey of modernization together, the people of China and Vietnam have always been in the same boat through thick and thin and shared weal and woe, and jointly written a historical chapter of China-Vietnam friendship.

China-Vietnam friendship has taken root and sprouted through the mutual assistance of the peoples of the two countries. China fully supports the Vietnamese people's struggle to resist France and the United States and save the country. Li Hongfeng, a Vietnamese student at the Whampoa Military Academy and an early leader of the Communist Party of Vietnam, joined the Guangzhou Uprising, and the "General of the Two Kingdoms" Hongshui participated in the Long March of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. In the just cause of striving for national independence and national liberation, the people of China and Vietnam fought side by side, dyeing the deep friendship of "comrades and brothers" bright red background.

China-Vietnam friendship blossoms and bears fruit in the unity and cooperation between the peoples of the two countries. In recent years, the two sides have anchored the "six more" overall goals of higher political mutual trust, more practical cooperation, deeper pragmatic cooperation, stronger public opinion foundation, tighter multilateral coordination and cooperation, and better solution to divergence control. They have established more than 30 cooperation mechanisms in the fields of politics, security, economy, trade, and humanities. The bilateral trade volume has repeatedly hit new highs. China has firmly ranked among the forefront of Vietnam's source countries of foreign investment. The two countries' industrial chain and supply chain cooperation has been deepened, and infrastructure interconnection, cooperation in emerging fields, and smart port construction is strong. The two countries learn from each other, firmly support each other in their socialist path that conforms to their national conditions, and continuously achieve new achievements in the cause of socialist construction.

China-Vietnam friendship is passed down and sublimated in the common pursuit of the people of both countries. World peace and human progress are noble causes pursued by the people of both countries. Faced with the international situation of chaos and intertwining, both sides actively practiced the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative, firmly defended international fairness and justice, and always firmly stood on the right side of history and the progress of the times, providing more stability and positive energy for Asia and the world.

The people are the creators of history, and the support and support of the people of the two countries is a solid foundation for building a community with a shared future between China and Vietnam. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam and the "China-Vietnam Cultural Exchange Year". Let us continue the traditional friendship and bring together the trickle of friendship between the two peoples into a surging river of friendship between China and Vietnam, and make new and greater contributions to promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind and building a better world.

There are many young friends here. Youth is the future and hope of the career. China will invite Vietnamese youth to China to carry out a "red study tour" in the next three years, follow the revolutionary footprints of the older generation of leaders of the two parties and countries, explore the red genes of China-Vietnam friendship, feel the thousands of atmospheres of Chinese modernization, and gather youthful power for the respective socialist causes and the construction of a strategically significant China-Vietnam community with a shared future.
