The total investment of the project is 7.384 billion yuan. It is a landmark project with an important influence and demonstration role in the field of water conservancy construction in the country. It is also a major water conservancy project in the country in 2025. The main construction contents include water transmission and distribution projects, drainage projects, infrastructure transformation and engineering informatization.

According to reports, after the project is completed, the efficient water-saving irrigation rate in the irrigation area will increase from the current 31.6% to 40%, with an annual water saving of 21.25 million cubic meters, and the grain output will increase from 1.64 million tons to 1.8 million tons. It will further make up for the infrastructure shortcomings of the irrigation area, improve the irrigation guarantee capacity in the irrigation area, promote the intensive and economical utilization of water resources, and improve the comprehensive agricultural production capacity. It is of great significance to implement the national important agricultural product guarantee strategy and strengthen the construction of grain production functional areas and important agricultural product production protection areas.
