A reporter asked, regarding KMT Chairman Cheng Lai-wen leading a delegation to visit the mainland, a spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council previously stated that cross-strait affairs are family matters and should be handled by family members through consultation. Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council said in response that the mainland's statement highlighted its intention to "anti-intervention" and "domesticize cross-strait issues." Any comment on this?

When answering questions, spokesperson Zhu Fenglian said that both sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to the same China, are all Chinese, and are one family. Cross-Strait affairs are family affairs of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and should be discussed and handled by family members. Compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait have sufficient wisdom and ability to solve their own problems. On the common political basis of adhering to the "1992 Consensus" and opposing "Taiwan independence," we are willing to work with various political parties, groups and individuals in Taiwan, including the Chinese Kuomintang, to promote the peaceful development of cross-Strait relations, seek peace across the Taiwan Strait, benefit our compatriots, and seek rejuvenation for the nation. Out of the self-interest of "Taiwan independence", the Democratic Progressive Party authorities have slandered and smeared China and are unpopular.
