The epicenter was located at 16.77 degrees north latitude, 99.41 degrees west longitude, with a focal depth of 5 kilometers. There have been many aftershocks. Federal public safety sources said there were no reports of serious damage. According to the meteorological department, there is no risk of tsunami.
