Premier Li Qiang of the State Council will attend the 16th Summer Davos Forum held in Tianjin from June 24 to 25. Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun talked about China’s expectations for this forum at a regular press conference on the 23rd.
Guo Jiakun said that the Summer Davos Forum has been successfully held for fifteen sessions so far, becoming an important platform for enhancing Sino-foreign exchanges and promoting pragmatic cooperation. At present, the world's economic growth is weak, and unilateralism and protectionism are rising, which seriously impacts the multilateral trading system. Against this background, the number of guests who signed up for this forum hit a record high in recent years, once again demonstrating the common willingness of all parties to safeguard economic globalization and the free trade system, and their positive attitude towards strengthening economic and trade exchanges and cooperation with China.
"We look forward to working with the guests from all countries to inject more stability and certainty into the world economy," said Guo Jiakun.
