CCTV News: The website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission reported that in order to carry out study and education in the spirit of the Central Eight Regulations and continue to strengthen warning education, the Gansu Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision publicly reported five typical cases of violations of the spirit of the Central Eight Regulations. The details are as follows.
1. Yan Xiaohui, former Party Secretary of Lanzhou University of Arts and Sciences, has long been in violation of regulations to accept gifts and money from multiple subordinates and private business owners, and accept banquets from management and service recipients. From 2012 to 2024, while serving as the Party Secretary of the Lanzhou University of Arts and Sciences and Deputy Director of the Proposal Committee of the Gansu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Yan Xiaohui had received gifts and money from many subordinates and private business owners that may affect the fair performance of official duties; he accepted banquets from management and service recipients many years and drank high-end liquor. Yan Xiaohui also had other serious violations of discipline and laws, and was expelled from the Party and removed from public office. The suspected criminal issues were transferred to the procuratorate for review and prosecution in accordance with the law.
2. Jia Taibin, former member of the Party Leadership Group and Secretary-General of Jiuquan Municipal Government, has long been receiving gifts, gifts and consumption cards, and accepting banquets and tourism activities that may affect the fair performance of official duties. From 2013 to 2024, Jia Taibin served as deputy secretary of the Dunhuang Municipal Party Committee and mayor, member of the Party Leadership Group and secretary-general of Jiuquan Municipal Government, taking advantage of the opportunity of holidays, his father's funeral, his daughter's marriage, and his wife's birthday, he accepted gifts and money from many subordinates and private business owners; accepted banquets from many private business owners all year round; and accepted tourism activities arranged by management and service objects many times. Jia Taibin also had other serious violations of discipline and laws, and was expelled from the Party and removed from public office. The suspected criminal issues were transferred to the procuratorate for review and prosecution in accordance with the law.
3. Wu Jing, former fourth-level senior police officer of Pingliang Public Security Bureau and former party branch secretary of the security guard escort center, illegally distributed allowances, subsidies and benefits. From 2013 to 2021, Wu Jing was appointed as the Party Branch Secretary of Pingliang City’s former Security Guardian Escort Center and was in charge of work. He made an illegal decision to distribute bonuses, holiday expenses and other allowances and benefits to employees. Wu Jing was given a serious warning within the party.
4. Yang Junjie, a cadre of Xijiang Town Government of Min County, Dingxi City, misappropriates public medical insurance premiums and pension insurance premiums. From November 2017 to November 2021, while serving as a village cadre in Baniang Village and Daping Village, Xijiang Town, Min County, Yang Junjie used his work convenience to misappropriate the public medical insurance premiums and pension insurance premiums kept on behalf of others for personal use. Yang Junjie was dismissed from his post.
5. Yang Xilin, a first-level chief clerk of Zhuoni County Culture and Tourism Bureau of Gannan Prefecture, organized wedding banquets in batches for his son. In October 2023, Yang Xilin held a wedding banquet for his son three times, and it exceeded the number of tables and people reported. Yang Xilin was given a party warning.
