China and Malaysia mutual visa exemption agreement will come into effect on July 17

The Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of Malaysia on the mutual exemption of visas for ordinary passports and ordinary passports for persons with visas for ordinary passports will come into effect on July 17, 2025.

According to the agreement, those who hold valid Chinese official ordinary passports, ordinary passports and Malaysian ordinary passports, enter, leave or transit on the other party for the purpose of leisure travel, visiting relatives and friends, business activities, exchange visits, private affairs, medical care, international transportation (crews), stay for no more than 30 days, and stay for no more than 90 days every 180 days, and are exempt from visa application.

If you need to stay in the other contracting party for more than 30 days at a single time, or settle in the other contracting party, or engage in work, study, news reporting, etc. that require prior approval by the competent department of the other contracting party, you should apply for the corresponding visa before entering the other contracting party.
