People's Daily Ulanqab, May 15 (Yang Chunyan) Inner Mongolia is an important national energy base in China. In 2024, Inner Mongolia's cumulative power generation of new energy exceeded 200 billion kilowatt-hours, and the exported new energy electricity reached 60 billion kilowatt-hours, ranking first in the country. In recent years, the local government has accelerated the layout of the new energy equipment manufacturing industry and made every effort to promote the development of the entire new energy industry chain.

On May 14, 23 foreign media reporters from 19 countries in Asia-Pacific entered the Yunda Wind Power Equipment Manufacturing Factory located in the Chahar High-tech Development Zone of Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia, and witnessed the transformation of giant wind turbine generators from polishing precision parts to forming a giant.

When entering the factory, the reporters raised their mobile phones and took pictures of the parts in the factory. Seeing the giant bolts and nuts neatly placed in the carton, the reporters couldn't help but raise them up like "lifting dumbbells" and feel the actual weight of these parts personally.

Fiji Broadcasting Corporation reporter Nikhil Kumar told People's Daily reporter: "The turbines I saw in the videos in the past seemed small, but after seeing these behemoths with my own eyes, I realized that they can store a large amount of energy, benefiting countless people, and the efficiency of the production process is also amazing."

He said: "I had little knowledge of Inner Mongolia's innovative practice in the field of green energy. Although I heard that local people promoted green energy innovation through diversified renewable energy systems such as solar and wind energy, it was not until this on-site visit to factories and wind power facilities that I deeply felt that they were making steady progress towards the goal of becoming a major green energy center."

Wes Cabangon, a reporter from the Philippines' Business Mirror, said in an interview with People's Daily reporter that renewable energy is more of a supplementary energy in the Philippines' industrial system, mainly relying on oil, coal and natural gas. Inner Mongolia is different, where it is fully promoting the transformation of the industry to green and environmentally friendly energy. This systematic effort is impressive.

In addition, in the Chahar High-tech Development Zone, the reporter also saw that Huawei and Alibaba and other leading domestic Internet technology companies have established data centers here. According to local staff, Ulanqab has the leading scenic resources in China. Relying on local energy advantages, the green electricity ratio of data centers can easily reach more than 80%, and the average annual temperature is only 4.3℃. The heat dissipation energy consumption of data centers can save 20%-30% compared with the southern regions.

Cai Chenwei said that his previous understanding of Inner Mongolia was mainly concentrated in the fields of dairy and agriculture, and now he found that it is gradually becoming a model of the integration of science and technology and nature. He believes that the name of Ulanqab's "Grassland Cloud Valley" is veritable: "The vast grasslands provide unique natural conditions for green energy such as wind power and solar energy, and these energy supports the country's big data processing needs."

When asked to introduce to our readers what keywords the Inner Mongolia will emphasize, Nikil replied: "Efficiency, innovation, sustainable and green development." Cai Chenwei's answer was "Synonyms and Technological and Natural": "We should not forcefully transform nature to adapt to science and technology, but should make full use of the gifts of the land itself."
