On May 13, President Xi Jinping called Anthony Albanes to congratulate him on his re-election as prime minister of the Australian Federal Government.
Xi Jinping pointed out that in the past three years, I have met with the Prime Minister to communicate in-depth and reach important consensus on strategic, overall and directional issues related to the development of China-Australia relations, and to make strategic guidance for the improvement and development of bilateral relations. Further strengthening of cooperation between China and Australia is of great significance to achieving common development between the two countries and promoting world peace and stability. I am willing to work with Prime Minister Albany to promote the steady and long-term development of the China-Australia comprehensive strategic partnership and better benefit the people of both countries.
On the same day, Premier Li Qiang sent a congratulatory message to Albany, saying that China is willing to work with the new Australian government to promote the construction of a more mature, stable and fruitful China-Australia comprehensive strategic partnership.
