CCTV News (News Network): After mutual agreement between China and Latin America and the Caribbean Countries, the fourth ministerial meeting of the China-Latin America and the Caribbean Countries Forum will be held in Beijing on May 13. President Xi Jinping will attend the opening ceremony of the meeting and deliver an important speech.

Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, will preside over the meeting. Foreign ministers or representatives of members of the Latin Community and heads of relevant regional international organizations will attend the meeting.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that President Xi Jinping will attend the opening ceremony of this meeting and deliver an important speech, review the development of China-Latin America relations, elaborate on the rich connotation, practical achievements and broad prospects of the important concept of a community with a shared future between China and Latin America, and put forward new initiatives and measures to develop China-Latin America relations, point out the direction and inject new momentum for the steady and long-term development of China-Latin America relations. The meeting will pass a number of results documents, involving specific measures for cooperation between the two sides in areas such as scientific and technological innovation, economic and trade investment, artificial intelligence, finance, infrastructure, agriculture and food, industry and informatization, energy and minerals, and jointly building the "Belt and Road", demonstrating China and Latin America's firm determination in seeking peace, development and cooperation.

Ten years ago, the first ministerial meeting of the China-Latin America Forum was successfully held in Beijing. Over the past decade, under the guidance of the head of state diplomatic strategy and the joint efforts of both sides, the China-Latin America Forum has established mechanisms such as ministerial meetings, the China-Latin America "Four Horses" Foreign Minister Dialogue, and the National Coordinator Meeting, to build four pillars of overall cooperation between China and Latin America. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the official operation of the China-Latin America Forum, hosting the fourth ministerial meeting is an important measure taken by China and Latin America to carry forward the past and start the future, discuss cooperation and create the future together. It is of great significance in the China-Latin America cooperation process and will send a clear signal to the world of unity and cooperation and jointly respond to global challenges.

Latin America and the Caribbean are important components of the global South and are an important force in maintaining world peace and development. President Xi Jinping visited Latin America and the Caribbean six times, and intensified the regional leaders of the country's contracts on bilateral and multilateral occasions, personally drew up a blueprint for the development of China-Latin America relations, led China-Latin America relations into a new stage of equality, mutual benefit, innovation, openness and benefiting the people, and gave China-Latin America a community of shared future profound connotations. Opposing hegemony and power and advocating equality and mutual respect are common pursuits between China and Latin America. Both China and Latin America support economic globalization, multilateralism and multilateral trading system, oppose unilateralism and economic bullying, and oppose the politicization and weaponization of economic and trade relations.
