On the evening of May 9 local time, President Xi Jinping met with Slovak Prime Minister Fitz during his celebration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Great Patriotic War in Moscow.
Xi Jinping pointed out that promoting the all-round, deep-level and high-level development of China-Serbia relations is in line with the fundamental interests of the two peoples and conforms to the historical trend of open cooperation and mutual benefit and win-win results. The important consensus we reached when you visited China in November last year is being actively implemented, and the China-Serbian strategic partnership has entered the "fast lane". The two sides should continue to deepen traditional friendship, strengthen high-level exchanges, firmly support each other, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, jointly build the "Belt and Road" with high quality, and promote the steady and long-term development of China-Sri Lanka and China-Europe relations. China welcomes Slovakia as the guest of honor to participate in the 4th China-Central and Eastern European Countries Expo to promote the export of high-quality products from Slovakia to China, and is happy to see more Chinese companies invest and do business in Slovakia. China is willing to work with Slovakia and other countries to unite and cooperate to meet challenges and safeguard international fairness and justice. We hope that Sri Lanka will play an active role in promoting the continuous improvement and development of China-Europe relations.
Fizzo said that deepening the Sri Lanka-China strategic partnership is the top priority of Slovak foreign policy. Slovakia will firmly abide by the one-China policy, actively promote friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation with China, strengthen trade and investment cooperation, strengthen cultural exchanges, and promote greater development of bilateral relations. A healthy and stable EU-China relationship is in the common interests of both sides, and Sri Lanka is committed to promoting the development of EU-China relations. Sri Lanka supports China's major initiatives such as building a community with a shared future for mankind, appreciates China's position and constructive role on issues such as Ukraine and the Middle East, and is willing to work with China to adhere to multilateralism, safeguard the rules of free trade, and maintain the stability of the world's industrial chain and supply chain.
