On the 27th, the State Cyberspace Administration of China released the "China Internet Rule of Law Development Report (2024)", which comprehensively introduces the progress and achievements of China's Internet rule of law construction in the past year, and looks forward to future work, releasing a clear direction to strengthen cyberspace governance and promote the formation of a good network ecology.

Cyberspace is an online spiritual home shared by hundreds of millions of people. Everyone hopes it is clear, harmonious and full of vitality. However, while people enjoy the benefits of the Internet, they are often troubled by some chaos. Some people believe that "traffic is king" and use bad and false content to gain popularity and attract attention; some people act as the "master behind the scenes" and organize online water army to manipulate information and brush volume control and comment; some people advocate "network violence", and they will tear each other offend each other and insult each other... All of these things not only threaten network security, but also poison the mental health of the majority of netizens and pollute the network ecology.

Cyberspace is not a lawless place. In recent years, the Cyberspace Administration of China and other departments have actively responded to the concerns of the people, remediate prominent problems in the network ecology, tightened and consolidated the main responsibilities of the website platform, continuously purified the network environment, effectively safeguarded the legitimate rights and interests of netizens, and promoted the work of managing and managing the Internet to a new level.

See the "report card" of the construction of the rule of law in 2024, and the spirit of the rule of law is further demonstrated: the "Regulations on Network Data Security Management" was issued, the "Regulations on Promoting and Regulating Cross-border Data Mobility" and the "Regulations on the Governance of Network Violent Information" were promulgated, and the Internet legal system was further improved; 11,159 websites and platforms were interviewed in accordance with the law, warnings or fines were imposed on 4,046 websites and platforms, canceling the license or filing of illegal websites, and closing 10,946 illegal websites; carrying out a series of special operations such as "Qinglang", "Clean Internet", and "Sword Net", and cracking down on illegal and irregular behaviors such as spreading false and vulgar information, infringing on the legitimate rights and interests of minors, and online infringement and piracy... Practice has proved that the rule of law is the basic way of Internet governance. The more the Internet develops, the more important it is to rectify cyber crimes and purify the network ecology in accordance with the law.
