At the occasion of the May Day International Labor Day, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council held a conference to solemnly celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and commend a group of national labor models and advanced workers. This is the first time that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has carried out national model workers commendation for the first time after the Party’s 20th National Congress has clarified the Party’s central tasks in the new era and new journey. It will surely inspire the whole Party and the people of all ethnic groups in the country to shoulder the responsibility and work tirelessly to promote Chinese-style modernization with greater enthusiasm, more tenacious struggle and wise creation.

Labor creates happiness, and struggle creates great achievements. From the frequent good news of manned spaceflight, to the emergence of scientific and technological achievements such as quantum technology and artificial intelligence, to the first time in history, the railway business mileage exceeded 162,000 kilometers, and the annual output of new energy vehicles exceeded 10 million vehicles for the first time... my country's working class and the broad masses of working people focused on doing their own things under the leadership of the Party, worked hard and strived to be the first in the tide of economic construction, and wrote a new chapter of "Chinese Dream and Labor Beauty" with wisdom and sweat. The people are the creators of history. It is precisely because we always adhere to the people-centered approach and fully stimulate the labor enthusiasm and creative potential of hundreds of millions of people that Chinese-style modernization has the most solid foundation and the deepest strength.

The labor movement cause is an important part of the party’s cause. Looking back at the history of the labor movement, the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China made it clear that the central work after the founding of the Communist Party of China was to lead, organize and promote the workers' movement. In the 100 years since the founding of the Chinese Trade Union, under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, we have worked together with the Party and worked with the Party in all historical periods, organized and mobilized the staff class and the broad masses of working people to unite and work hard and make achievements, and made important contributions to revolution, construction and reform. Especially since the new era, trade unions have firmly grasped the theme and direction of the era of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, adhered to the work orientation centered on the work, insisted on strengthening trade union reform and innovation, organized and mobilized workers to innovate and create in all walks of life and fields, and took responsibility and act for building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and promoting Chinese-style modernization.
