The press conference on Shenzhou 20 manned flight mission was held today (April 23) at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.
The spokesperson introduced that at present, the overall development of all manned lunar landing missions is progressing smoothly. The Long March 10 carrier rocket, Mengzhou manned spacecraft, moon-surface lander, Wangyu lunar landing suit, exploration manned lunar rover are carrying out preliminary sample development and testing as planned. The lunar remote sensing satellite has completed project establishment and competition selection, and the development and construction of ground systems such as launch sites, measurement and control communications, and landing sites are being carried out in an orderly manner as planned.
As the deepening of the preliminary sample development work, major large-scale tests and cross-system tests of each system are progressing steadily. In the early stage, the comprehensive matching test of the Long March 10 carrier rocket's electrical system was organized and completed, the first high-altitude airdrop test of the Mengzhou manned spacecraft, and the thermal test of the entire device of the Luyue Surface Lander. In the future, the Mengzhou spacecraft will be organized and implemented in Jiuquan launch site, Wenchang launch site and other places, and other tests will be organized and implemented to fully verify the key functional performance of the flight products.
These large-scale experiments are the first comprehensive verification of new products and new technologies. The tasks are arduous, the preparations are complex, and the progress is tight, and the risks and challenges faced are great. The entire project will continue to carry forward the spirit of "two bombs and one satellite" and the spirit of manned space flight, scientifically coordinate, unite and cooperate, and work hard to ensure the successful completion of all experimental tasks, and lay a solid foundation for achieving the goal of manned lunar landing mission as scheduled.
