This emergency water volume scheduling has achieved remarkable results, successfully ensuring the safety of water supply in Macau, Zhuhai and other places during the Lantern Festival. Since last winter and this spring, through the implementation of five emergency water volume schedulings for "salty and salty and lightweight" times, the Zhuhai Reservoir Group has accumulated relatively sufficient freshwater reserves, which can meet the needs of water until the end of the dry period and subsequent water use.

On the eve of the Lantern Festival, affected by factors such as the continuous shortage of natural incoming water in the Xijiang and Beijiang River and the enhanced tidal dynamics of the estuary, the Zhujiang River estuary encountered a new round of salt tide tracing, covering the main water intake in Zhuhai. The Zhuzhoutou Pumping Station and Pinggang Pumping Station cannot extract fresh water for 3 and 7 consecutive days respectively. The Zhuhai water supply reservoir group effectively stores water and consumes rapidly.

In recent days, the Pearl River Water Conservancy Committee has closely monitored the salty conditions of rainwater, conducted a rolling consultation, analysis and judgment, combined with the laws of the impact of salt tide, accurately selected the "window period" of salty pressure, and jointly finely dispatched the backbone reservoir groups such as Datengxia, Xijin, Changzhou and Beijiang Feilaixia in Xijiang to increase the outflow flow, and added a total of 730 million cubic meters of water downstream. The average flow of Xijiang Wuzhou Station and Beijiang Shijiao Station reached 2,470 cubic meters per second and 307 cubic meters per second, significantly increasing the runoff of Xijiang and Beijiang rivers.

Through this emergency water volume scheduling, the largest salt boundary of the Modaomen waterway in the Pearl River Delta has moved down about 33 kilometers. Zhuzhoutou Pump Station, the main water intake pump station in Zhuhai City, has started to extract fresh water throughout the day. The daily low-take chance of Pinggang Pump Station has increased to 96%, and the Zhuzhou-Macao reservoir group has stopped consumption and storage. It is expected that Zhuhai water intake pump stations will still meet the conditions for light extraction in the next week, and the water source reserves of Zhuhai and Macau water supply reservoirs will be effectively supplemented.
