CCTV News: January 28th is New Year's Eve. Some people have returned home to reunite with their relatives and friends, some are still on their way home to reunite, and many people are still sticking to their posts. Ganggantewula Station in Wuzhumuqin Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is a fifth-class railway station. In my country's railway system, this is the smallest-class station. There is no people within a radius of hundreds of miles, and there are no buses stopping, but it is an important link in the power and coal transportation channels of Liaoning and Jilin provinces. In winter, the temperature here is minus 20 to 30 degrees Celsius. In order to ensure the safety of the passing train, the most important task of the staff is to clear the snow on the switches. On the eve of the Spring Festival, a reporter from the General Station came to Gangganteula Station and recorded the daily work of this small station before the festival.
Gangtanteurah means gorgeous mountains in Mongolian language. The small station is located between two mountains, with a radius of hundreds of miles without people. The railway passing through Gangganteula is a single-track line, and the small station is also the only meeting point for coal transportation within 100 kilometers. Two hours before each meeting, the stationmaster Ji Zhe had to lead the team members to clear the snow on the switch. The reporter followed the team to the scene, but as soon as he left the station, the bad weather gave us the warning.
For this interview, the reporter brought the thickest down jacket, but as soon as he got outdoors, he was instantly penetrated. Such a road may be a very extreme challenge for outsiders, but they have to walk this road more than ten times at most every day.
After trekking in the snow under the cold wind for nearly an hour, we finally arrived at the turnout snow clearing point. At this time, the switch was buried in heavy snow and could not be started at all.
Under normal circumstances, only the control room needs to press the button to turn the switch, but in winter, this job requires six or seven people to work hard to clear the snow on the spot to complete.
The four new employees in the snow removal team are inexperienced, and the webmaster Ji Zhe and deputy webmaster Zhang Mingxun can only teach while doing it. Two hours later, the snow was cleaned up.
The young people are clearing the snow in front of them. Li Yangguang, the on-duty officer at the station, ensures safety in the control room, sending and receiving information, dispatching personnel, sending instructions to trains, etc., seems simple, but it is not easy to achieve zero accidents.
Li Yangguang, duty officer at the Ganggantewula Station of Shenyang Bureau of National Railways, said: "What I am most proud of is that I do my job well. I have been on duty for more than 30 years, and I have never had an accident. I feel very honored."
In one year, Li Yangguang is about to retire. He said that he should retire with zero mistakes and then go to see the beautiful mountains and rivers of the motherland.
At around 2 a.m., news came from the duty room that there were switches that needed to be cleaned. The stationmaster Ji Zhe led a group of people to head towards the snow removal point. At night, the temperature in Gangtantewula dropped to more than minus 30 degrees Celsius. In addition, it was dark and it was impossible to see the road clearly. It took everyone an hour and a half to get there.
After two hours of emergency operation, the switch was cleaned again and the train passed smoothly in the night. Snow removal and turntick switches must be repeated over and over again.
This Spring Festival, everyone can only spend the Spring Festival at the station. The seven of them each cooked a specialty dish and made a table of reunion dinner.
Every winter, more than 10 million tons of coal safely passes through the Ganggantewula Station. These coals can meet the power generation and heating needs of power plants in 13 regions of Liaoning and Jilin provinces, ensuring that 15 million people have a warm winter. Behind this is Ji Zhe and his colleagues' snow cleaning homework more than 3,000 times.
Ji Zhe, the stationmaster of the Ganggantewula Station of the Shenyang Bureau of the National Railway, said: "I will tell my son that my father mainly manages the train. The train passes back and forth from the Dad's station. A hundred vehicles are 10,000 tons. If it is more than fifty festivals, it will be about 5,000 tons. Only when the coal is transported out can we meet the requirements of ensuring the lights of thousands of families."
