Xinhua News Agency, Hangzhou, January 16 (Reporters Li Yun and Li Bingxuan) The Chinese Navy's "Peace Ark" hospital ship successfully completed the "Harmony Mission-2024" mission and successfully returned to a military port in Zhoushan, Zhejiang on the morning of the 16th.
Since its departure on June 16, 2024, the Peace Ark has visited 13 Asian and African countries including Seychelles, Tanzania, Madagascar, Mozambique, South Africa, Angola, Congo (Brazza), Gabon, Cameroon, Benin, Mauritania, Djibouti, Sri Lanka and other countries and provided humanitarian medical services. The technology stops in Algeria and Singapore, which lasted 215 days and had a total voyage of more than 30,000 nautical miles, breaking the record of the longest missions in the series of "Harmony Mission" and the most visited countries.
During the mission, "Peace Ark" conducted 82,980 common and frequent diseases for people from all countries, Chinese institutions, and Chinese overseas Chinese, and performed 1,392 surgeries of various types. The tasked officers and soldiers also carried out visits, exchanges, professional seminars, cultural and sports exchanges with relevant countries, and received more than 150 batches of more than 4,800 people from all countries boarded the ship to visit.
The Peace Ark has carried out the "Harmony Mission" mission since August 2010, and has visited 49 countries and regions in total, serving more than 370,000 people, and a total voyage of more than 320,000 nautical miles.
