On April 9, the 9th Summit of the Community of Latin America and the Caribbean States was held in Honduras, the rotating president, and President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the summit.
Xi Jinping pointed out that the current century-long changes in the world are accelerating, and the "Global South" including China and Latin America and the Caribbean countries have grown strongly. The Latin American Community adheres to independence, unity and self-reliance, and has played an important role in maintaining regional peace and stability, promoting development cooperation, and promoting regional integration. I sincerely wish Latin American and Caribbean countries and people to achieve greater achievements on the road of development and revitalization and to make greater contributions to enhancing unity and cooperation in the "Global South".
Xi Jinping stressed that China-Latin America relations have experienced the test of international changes and have entered a new stage of equality, mutual benefit, innovation, openness and benefiting the people. The mutual political trust between the two sides continues to deepen, practical cooperation continues to expand, and cultural exchanges are becoming increasingly close, benefiting the people of China and Latin America and setting a model of South-South cooperation. China is willing to work with regional countries to promote the continuous development of the construction of a community with a shared future between China and Latin America. This year, China will hold the fourth ministerial meeting of the China-Latin America Forum in Beijing. We welcome all member states of the Latin America community to attend the meeting, discuss development plans, participate in the grand cooperation event, and jointly contribute wisdom and strength to respond to global challenges, promote global governance changes, and maintain world peace and stability.
