Guo Jiakun said that the US's actions have grossly interfered in Tibet affairs and China's internal affairs seriously violated international law and basic norms of international relations. China is strongly dissatisfied with this and firmly opposes it. I want to emphasize that Tibet is an open Tibet and has never made any regulations restricting foreigners from entering Tibet. Tibet receives a large number of foreign tourists and people from all walks of life every year, and in 2024, a total of 320,000 foreign tourists are received. Taking into account the special geographical and climatic conditions of Tibet, it is completely necessary for the Chinese government to take certain management and protection measures for foreigners to enter Tibet in accordance with the law and regulations.
China welcomes foreigners to visit, travel and do business in Tibet, China, but must abide by Chinese laws and relevant regulations. We oppose the unreasonable smear of the current development status of human rights, religion and cultural undertakings in Tibet, and oppose foreign officials to interfere and destroy the reality of interference and destruction in the name of performing their duties in Tibet. China urges the US to abide by its commitments on the Tibet issue, stop condoning and supporting the "Tibetan independence" forces, and stop interfering in China's internal affairs through Tibet-related issues. China will take necessary measures to resolutely and reciprocally counter the US's wrong actions.
