The report disclosed that China's total revenue of science fiction industry exceeded 100 billion in 2024.
According to the "2025 China Science Fiction Industry Report", the total revenue of China's science fiction industry in 2024 was 108.96 billion yuan, basically the same as last year, and exceeded 100 billion yuan for two consecutive years.
In 2024, the revenue of the science fiction reading industry was 3.51 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.7%. The revenue of the science fiction film and television industry is 6.71 billion yuan, the development momentum of science fiction micro-short dramas and medium-short videos is strong, and the scale and influence of science fiction film festivals have steadily increased. The revenue of the science fiction game industry was 71.81 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.2%. The revenue growth of science fiction games on computer and consoles was accelerated, and the level of science fiction game production was significantly improved. The revenue of the science fiction derivatives industry was 2.53 billion yuan, an increase of 11% year-on-year, and domestic original IPs gradually dominated. The revenue of the science fiction cultural and tourism industry is 24.4 billion yuan, and the revenue share of local theme park science fiction entertainment projects has increased compared with last year. Science fiction stage dramas and science fiction script entertainment are gradually moving towards the stage of boutique content and high-end operation.
