As of the end of 2024, there were 4.842 million sports venues nationwide, with a stadium area of 4.23 billion square meters, and the per capita sports venue area reached 3 square meters. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, a total of 1,102 sports parks were built, and the planning goals were completed ahead of schedule.
The "National Football Enters the Community" and "National Football Enters the Park" activities cover a total of 1,363 parks and 9,618 communities in 2024, with 23,408 table tennis tables and 25,088 other fitness equipment (sets).
In 2024, the General Administration of Sports of China, together with the Ministry of Finance, allocated financial funds to support the opening of public sports venues for free or low-cost, subsidizing 3,050 venues, covering nearly 1,600 county-level administrative areas across the country, with more than 500 million beneficiaries.
In 2024 and 2025, a total of more than 1.23 billion yuan of centralized lottery public welfare funds will be used for the construction of national fitness venue facilities.
The first National Fitness Competition, the 14th Winter Games Mass Competition, the 3rd National Fitness Online Games, etc. set off a national fitness craze. Among them, "National Fitness Day" held more than 20,000 mass competitions, and more than 10 million people participated. The National Fitness Online Sports Games has launched more than 80 events and activities, with more than 21.82 million people directly participating.
As of the end of 2024, the country has a total of about 3.71 million social sports instructors, and every 1,000 people has about 2.63 social sports instructors.
