CCTV News: The value-added tax invoice data released by the State Administration of Taxation shows that with the continued implementation of the incremental policies of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council since September 26 last year and the existing policies issued in the early stage, the sales revenue of enterprises across the country improved significantly in the fourth quarter of 2024, and the economic operation showed six highlights.

——The development of manufacturing industry has accelerated, and the supporting role of equipment manufacturing is strong. In the fourth quarter of 2024, manufacturing sales revenue increased by 3.8% year-on-year, an increase of 2.4 percentage points from the third quarter. Among them, the sales revenue of the equipment manufacturing industry increased by 8.3% year-on-year, an increase of 4 percentage points from the third quarter. In particular, the sales revenue of railway, ship, aerospace equipment manufacturing, computer and communication equipment manufacturing, and general equipment manufacturing increased rapidly in the fourth quarter, with year-on-year growth of 16.5%, 10.9% and 8% respectively.

——Emerging industries continue to grow rapidly, and new quality productivity is accelerating. In the fourth quarter of 2024, sales revenue of high-tech industries increased by 10.6% year-on-year, continuing the rapid growth of double-digits. Among them, sales revenue of high-tech services and high-tech manufacturing increased by 11.1% and 10% year-on-year respectively. In the fourth quarter, sales revenue of core industries in the digital economy increased by 5.5% year-on-year. Among them, sales revenue of digital product manufacturing and digital technology application industries increased by 6.9% and 8.3% year-on-year respectively.

——Ecological and environmental protection services are growing steadily, and the clean energy industry is developing rapidly. In the fourth quarter of 2024, sales revenue of green technology promotion services such as new energy, energy conservation, and environmental protection increased by 21.2%, 21.8% and 16.3% year-on-year respectively. The clean energy industry maintained rapid growth, with sales revenue of solar energy, biomass energy and wind power increased by 17.9%, 12.7% and 5% year-on-year respectively. The demand for green travel continues to grow, driving the sales revenue of new energy vehicle manufacturing industry to increase by 28.1% year-on-year.

——The equipment update is steadily accelerating, and consumer goods traded for new products continue to improve. In the fourth quarter of 2024, driven by the policy of large-scale equipment renewal, the amount of machinery and equipment purchased by enterprises nationwide increased by 7.5% year-on-year, an increase of 2.2 percentage points from the third quarter. Driven by factors such as state encouragement, support from local governments and concessions from enterprises, retail sales of household audio-visual equipment such as TVs and refrigerators increased by 38.1% and 75.4% year-on-year respectively; retail retail of furniture and sanitary ware related to home improvement increased by 39.4% and 26.3% year-on-year respectively, both significantly faster than the growth rate in the third quarter.

—Infrastructure investment has rebounded, and the "two-level" projects have been implemented at a faster pace. In the fourth quarter of 2024, the growth rate of sales revenue of civil engineering construction industry, which reflects infrastructure investment, increased significantly compared with the third quarter. Especially with the implementation of a package of debt policies, sales revenue in December increased by 7% year-on-year, effectively promoting the construction of key infrastructure projects such as "two levels". Among them, the sales revenue of the construction industry of water conservancy and water transportation engineering increased by 17.7% year-on-year, an increase of 7.6 percentage points from the third quarter. Sales revenue of machinery manufacturing for construction projects increased by 6.3% year-on-year, reflecting the accelerated investment in construction.

——Inter-provincial trade continues to be smooth, and the construction of a unified large market is being promoted in an orderly manner. In the fourth quarter of 2024, the national inter-provincial trade sales, which reflected inter-provincial trade exchanges, increased by 3.3% year-on-year, further increasing from the third quarter. The sales revenue of the transportation and logistics industry increased by 8.4% year-on-year, of which the sales revenue of the ocean freight transportation and cargo transportation agency industries related to foreign trade increased by 31.4% and 31.3% year-on-year respectively.

A relevant person in charge of the State Administration of Taxation introduced that my country's economic operation showed a series of new trends and changes in the fourth quarter of 2024.
