The cold waves in the past two days have also affected the transportation in some areas, and the transportation department has made every effort to ensure passengers’ return.
Today, the national railway is expected to send 14.1 million passengers, and 1,469 trains are planned to be added. Railway departments in Sichuan, Henan and other places have increased the frequency of line flaw detection, combined with the characteristics of the equipment, strengthened inspections of key equipment, and ensured that the equipment was in good condition. The Jiangxi Railway Department conducted functional tests on electric-thermal snow melting devices in areas prone to freezing on Nanchang, Jiujiang and other lines to prevent switches from freezing.
In terms of highways, as of now, due to snowfall and road icing, 54 sections of roads in nine provinces (regions) including Liaoning, Heilongjiang, and Shanxi have been closed for traffic. 169 toll stations were closed separately.
Today, the national civil aviation plan is to implement 18,766 flights. In response to cold wave weather, the Civil Aviation Administration closely monitors the flight operation trend, adjusts the flight plan dynamically according to unfavorable weather, and increases the operation coordination of all parties to avoid large-scale flight delays.
