On May 16, the Seventh National Model Self-reliance and Advanced Commendation Conference on Helping the Disabled was held in Beijing. The conference commended 200 "National Self-reliance Model", 200 "National Advanced Collectives for the Work of Disabled Persons" and 60 "National Advanced Individuals for the Work of Disabled Persons".

There are 85 million disabled people in our country. In order to concentrate on displaying the remarkable achievements made in the development of the cause of the disabled in my country in the new era, widely promote the value concepts of equality, integration and sharing, give full play to the spiritual leadership and typical demonstration role of honor and commendation, further encourage the majority of disabled people to be self-esteem, self-confidence, self-reliance, and self-reliance, and create a good social trend of understanding, respecting, caring for and helping the disabled, the State Council Disabled Persons Work Committee, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and the China Disabled Persons Federation have deployed the seventh National Self-reliance Model and Advanced Selection and Commendation Activity for the Disabled.
