The report shows that in 2024, my country's basic Internet resources will continue to develop, the construction of 5G and gigabit fiber broadband networks will be promoted in an orderly manner, the mobile Internet access traffic will continue to grow rapidly, and the high-quality development of the information and communication industry will achieve remarkable results.

The basic resources of the Internet continue to be enriched. As of December, the number of IPv6 addresses was 69,148 blocks/32, an increase of 1.6% year-on-year; the total number of domain names was 33.02 million, of which the number of national top-level domain names ".CN" was 20.82 million.

The coordinated development of new information infrastructure. As of November, a total of 4.191 million 5G base stations have been built, a net increase of 815,000 from the end of last year; the three basic telecommunications companies have developed 2.642 billion cellular Internet of Things terminal users, accounting for 59.6% of the number of mobile terminal connections. The ubiquitous intelligent connection of people, machines and objects is being promoted in an orderly manner, providing solid support for more users to access Internet services.

The report shows that in 2024, related actions such as telecommunications universal services and "broadband frontiers" are promoted in an orderly manner, so that more people in rural and remote areas can use the Internet well.

The rural digital service system continues to be improved. As of December 2024, the number of rural netizens in my country reached 313 million, accounting for 28.2% of the total netizens. A total of 337,800 comprehensive village-level delivery logistics service stations have been built, and the "delivery + rural e-commerce + agricultural products + farmers (cooperatives)" model has been widely promoted; the telemedicine service network covers all cities and counties, and extends coverage to communities and rural grassroots levels, providing strong guarantees for the production and life of villagers.
