CCTV News: The reporter learned from the State Energy Group on the 15th that with the lifting of the last steel beam of the main factory of the "thermal power + molten salt" energy storage project of Anhui Suzhou Power Plant, the main construction of this largest "thermal power + molten salt" energy storage project in China also marks the official entry of the project into the equipment debugging stage.
Modified salt energy storage technology uses the temperature difference between molten salt during the heating and cooling process to achieve thermal energy storage. We can understand it as a large power bank. When the thermal power unit is still operating normally during the trough period of the power grid, a part of the steam is extracted and transported to the molten salt storage tank for storage energy; and then release energy during peak electricity consumption and deep peak regulating.
This largest "thermal power charging bank" project in China uses two molten salt storage tanks with high temperature of 390°C and low temperature of 190°C for heat storage. The main component of heat storage is ternary molten salt, and the designed heat storage capacity is 1,000 megawatt-hours. It not only solves the contradiction between the unit's peak-shaving output and steam supply, but also improves the stability of the power grid.
Qiao Tingcai, head of the Anhui Suzhou Power Plant Modified Salt Heat Storage Project of the State Energy Group Anhui Suzhou Power Plant, said: "After this project is completed and put into operation, the Suzhou Power Plant can achieve continuous heating for 4 hours under the full load of the unit, and 5 hours of continuous heating for 30% of the depth peak-shaving rated load. At the same time, the external heating capacity reaches 410 tons/hour, which is 260 tons/hour higher than the original heating capacity."
Qinghai: The installation of 23,000 heliostat mirrors for the 100,000-kilowatt tower solar thermal project in Guoneng Qingyu was completed
On March 15, located in the world's largest Talatan Photovoltaic Industrial Park in Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, the 100,000-kilowatt tower solar thermal project in Guoneng Qingyu completed the installation of 23,000-kilowatt heliostat mirrors, which marked the end of the project's mirror field construction.
It is understood that the average altitude of the project is 3,000 meters, the installed capacity is 100,000 kilowatts, and the total lighting area of the mirror field is 700,200 square meters. It is planned to be put into production in the second half of 2025, with an average annual power generation of 223 million kWh.
