On May 2, the Shandong Provincial Meteorological Observatory issued a yellow warning for strong convection. It is expected that from the afternoon of the 2nd to night, most areas of Shandong Province and all responsible sea areas will experience a thunderstorm weather process, with an average rainfall of 2 to 5 mm in the province; most areas will be accompanied by thunderstorms of 7 to 9 levels, including Heze, Jining, Zaozhuang, Linyi, Rizhao, Qingdao, southern Weifang, inland lakes and central Yellow Sea, with small hail and short-term heavy rainfall of more than 20 mm in hourly precipitation.
It is understood that the strong convective weather process is thunderstorm and strong winds combined with cold air and strong winds, and the wind is strong, which has adverse effects on outdoor tourism, maritime safety, transportation, agricultural production and outdoor operations. The meteorological department recommends that the public pay close attention to weather changes and do a good job in preventing strong convective weather such as thunderstorms, strong winds, thunder and hail.
