In the first quarter, all regions and departments conscientiously implemented the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, gave full play to the synergistic effects of existing policies and incremental policies, stimulated the vitality of the cultural market through multiple angles such as cultural consumption benefiting the people, cultural supply optimization, and cultural scene innovation, and the development of cultural enterprises has steadily improved.

Cultural enterprises above a certain scale have achieved operating income of nearly 3.4 trillion yuan. In the first quarter, the national cultural and related industrial enterprises above a certain scale (hereinafter referred to as "cultural enterprises") achieved operating income of 3393.9 billion yuan, an increase of 6.2% over the same period last year, and the growth rate was 0.2 percentage points faster than the whole year of 2024. By field, the core cultural field achieved operating income of 2312 billion yuan, an increase of 7.1% over the same period last year, and the growth rate was 0.8 percentage points faster than the whole year of 2024. Among them, the operating income of three major industries, including news information services, creative design services, and content creation and production, grew rapidly, increasing by 10.5%, 8.6% and 7.5% respectively over the same period last year.

New cultural industry is developing rapidly. In the first quarter, the 16 industries with relatively obvious characteristics of new cultural formats achieved operating income of 148.46 billion yuan, an increase of 12.5% ​​over the same period last year, 6.3 percentage points faster than all cultural enterprises above the scale. The contribution rate of the new cultural format industry to the growth of operating income of all cultural enterprises above the scale was 83.5%. Among them, the operating income of five industries, including intelligent unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturing for entertainment, other cultural arts industries, other cultural digital content services, digital publishing, and Internet advertising services, increased by a year-on-year year, at 36.8%, 24.2%, 23.1%, 19.8% and 16.4% respectively.

The "ballast stone" of the cultural service industry has obvious effect. In the first quarter, the cultural service industry achieved operating income of 1856.9 billion yuan, an increase of 9.7% over the same period last year, and the growth rate was 2.0 percentage points faster than the whole year in 2024. The proportion of cultural service industry in the operating income of cultural enterprises above scale was 54.7%, an increase of 1.7 percentage points over the same period last year, and the contribution rate to the growth of operating income of all cultural enterprises above scale was 83.0%, driving the growth of operating income of all cultural enterprises above scale by 5.1 percentage points. The cultural wholesale, retail and cultural manufacturing industries achieved operating incomes increased by 3.3% and 1.6% respectively compared with the same period last year.

The profitability of cultural enterprises has steadily improved. Driven by factors such as cost reduction and efficiency improvement and improvement in production and operation of some cultural service industries, cultural enterprises above designated size achieved a total profit of 274.4 billion yuan in the first quarter, an increase of 29.1% over the same period last year. The operating income profit margin was 8.09%, an increase of 1.43 percentage points from the same period last year. From the perspective of industry, the four industries, including digital content services, Internet information services, Internet cultural and entertainment platforms, and information service terminal manufacturing and sales, have achieved a significant profit-driven role.
