Many years ago, a police incident broke out in Tanggu. A man drove a van full of gasoline barrels and threatened to set fire. He was very excited.

The suspect roared and slapped his cell phone wildly. Xu Zhe quickly made a judgment: "He wants to run! Organize police forces to siege!"

Sure enough, after a moment, the suspect started the vehicle. Xu Zhe led his colleagues to attack decisively, intercepted him with a police car, and was the first to rush to the front of the car, firmly controlling the suspect who was about to take out the lighter. Afterwards, the police found 915 kilograms of gasoline on the vehicle involved in the case, and a disaster was avoided.

"Isn't he afraid in the face of the desperate people?" the reporter asked.

"He was always at the forefront in the arrest operation and was not afraid at all." Tong Haichen, deputy director of Banchang Road Police Station of Binhai Branch, studied with "Master" Xu Zhe after he became a police officer. In his eyes, "Master" has been fighting the case all his life.

In March 2023, a case occurred in Taiping Town, Binhai New District. Xu Zhe led a team to conduct a carpet-style search in the cold wetland. After more than 20 days of continuous struggle, all the suspects were arrested.

In the following 519 days, he underwent 8 chemotherapy sessions, took nearly 200 boxes of painkiller tablets, and his weight dropped sharply...

At the same time, he endured the severe pain and analyzed the case. As long as his health was slightly better, he would return to work and race against time in the face of major sensitive cases.

"He always said that he would spend more time with me and my children while he was sick. In fact, he was still working in his heart." Xu Zhe's lover Chen Lixiang was concerned about him, but seeing that he would be much more energetic as long as he came back from the unit, he would not stop him.

In May 2024, Xu Zhe's body lit up red light again. The treatment of multiple parties failed to pull him back from the brink of death. His life was frozen on September 15, 2024.

In his 22 years as a police officer, he has solved more than 1,100 criminal cases of various types, arrested more than 900 criminal suspects, and won the second-class merit three times and third-class merit twice... Xu Zhe dedicated the most brilliant 22 years of his life to the public security cause he loves without reservation. He protected the peace in the country with all his passion and fulfilled the original mission of "people's public security for the people" in his short life.

After Xu Zhe left, the Tianjin Public Security Department held a police number sealing ceremony for him, sealing the police number "580527" he used during his lifetime, and paying high respect to him with solemn ceremony.
