On March 28, a magnitude 7.9 earthquake occurred in Sejá, Myanmar. Up to now, the earthquake has caused the damage to buildings in many places such as Sega Province, Mandalay Province and Shan State in Myanmar, and the infrastructure such as bridges and roads have been damaged to varying degrees. Some surrounding countries have tremors of varying degrees.

The Chinese embassies and consulates in Myanmar and other countries immediately activated the emergency mechanism, closely monitored the earthquake disaster and the disaster-stricken situation of local Chinese citizens, and made every effort to carry out emergency response and safety protection. No reports of death of Chinese citizens have been received yet. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chinese embassies and consulates in relevant countries remind local Chinese citizens to pay attention to the following matters: 1. Strengthen their own safety precautions, timely understand and master earthquake self-rescue knowledge, and appropriately reserve emergency materials such as drinking water, food, disaster prevention and emergency supplies.

2. Pay close attention to earthquake dynamics, meteorological warnings and disaster prevention information, keep communication open, and prevent aftershocks and secondary disasters such as landslides, fires, and infectious diseases.

3. Comply with the local government's evacuation arrangements and evacuation guidelines, actively cooperate with the command of on-site management personnel, and transfer to a safe area as soon as possible.

4. In case of an emergency, please call the police in time and contact the local Chinese embassy and consulate for help.
