Today (1st), the registration channel for the 2025 College Student Volunteer Service Western Program will be opened today. From now until early May, fresh graduates or graduate students from ordinary universities can register in the Western Program registration system through the "Western Volunteer Resources" WeChat official account ("I Want to Register" in the menu bar) or log in to the official website of the Western Program (http://xibu.youth.cn). This year, it is expected that about 50,000 new Western Program volunteers will be recruited.

The western region plans to set up eight special projects, including rural education, serving rural construction, healthy rural areas, grassroots youth work, rural social governance, defending the country and guarding the border, serving Xinjiang, and serving Tibet, and more than 90% of the service positions are set up in townships and below. The Western Program volunteer service period is 1 to 3 years, and the service agreement is signed once a year. In order to motivate volunteers to continue to take root at the grassroots level after their service period, the country provides policy support in many aspects such as academic advancement, employment, and training.

The Western Plan is a talent project jointly organized and implemented by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. It has built a broad stage for young people to display their talents at the grassroots level in the west and serve the motherland. In the 22 years since the project was implemented, more than 540,000 college graduates have actively responded to the call of the Party and the country, participated in rural revitalization and grassroots governance in more than 2,000 counties (cities, districts, and banners), served to promote the border and enrich the people, stabilize the border and consolidate the border, injecting youthful vitality and youth strength into the development of the western region and grassroots level, and sang the melody of the times to go to the west, go to the grassroots level, go to the motherland and the people most needed to make achievements.
